Accelerated Resolution Therapy

What is A.R.T.?  Accelerated Resolution Therapy uses eye movements to process trauma symptoms, difficult sensations, and tough habits you want to break.  It’s a cousin of EMDR and also uses images/sensations and bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movements.  It is NOT hypnosis!

 

Many who have tried both A.R.T. and EMDR report finding A.R.T. to be a gentler and faster treatment.  I enjoy using A.R.T. because it taps into the body’s natural strengths and capacity for healing and can often feel playful or creative.  I have experienced it myself as part of training and even helped a colleague ditch lifelong arachnophobia in one session at our first training. 

Note: I generally require that we do the first session of A.R.T. in person at my office, but we can often move to telehealth after that.
